The conference seeks to stimulate scholarly enquiry, academic debate and practical discussion on the key issues facing the Catholic Church in its ecumenical and inter-faith context. Thus we invite contributions from academics and senior practitioners in the humanities, education, Church institutions and charities and the wider social sciences (widely interpreted) as well as those active in the public sphere.
Selected papers from the proceedings from the conference will be published in up to two edited academic volumes, confirmed special editions of New Blackfriars (Blackwell’s) , the International Journal of Public Theology (Brill) and Education, Knowledge and Economy (Routledge). A further edited collection aimed at practitioners will be published by Matthew James Publishing.
The conference will take place 6 pm Friday 19th March 2010 to 6 pm Sunday 21st March 2010 in Oxford.
Indications of interest should be made as soon as possible with an abstract of up to 500 words – at the latest by Wednesday 17th February 2010 at midday. Inclusion in/ and of panels will be confirmed by midnight Friday 19th 2010 February at the latest.
